There are Ferraris that look good in a spreadsheet, and then there are Ferraris that remind you why people became obsessed with the marque in the first place. This one belongs firmly in the second camp. A naturally aspirated, mid-engined V8 Ferrari with a six-speed open-gate manual gearbox, rear-wheel drive and carbon ceramic brakes, it represents one of the final moments before Ferrari's junior supercar bloodline became almost entirely paddle-shifted, digitised and increasingly sanitised. Finished in Rosso Barchetta, this example was one of just two F430s ever produced in this colour, and the only F430 Coupe to leave the factory in this specification. It also left Maranello without Scuderia shields, giving the car a cleaner, more discreet profile than the usual red-and-yellow theatre. In a market full of over-described "rare" cars, this was the real thing: unusual, beautifully specified, mechanically significant and properly relevant to the modern collector.
